Huddersfield Sports Photography – Shooting with Huddersfield Town Basketball

Team Photographer

I’ve recently been involved in becoming the team photographer for Huddersfield Town Basketball. This new club is growing quickly, with trials taking place in sports halls across Huddersfield as they prepare for their first league season.

Photographing a New Sports Team in Huddersfield

Head coaches Matthew and Seth kindly invited me to join one of their sessions so I could photograph the team’s development. It was great to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication from players of all ages as they trained. Being able to capture these moments behind the scenes is something I always enjoy, especially when a new club is building its identity.

The Challenge of Indoor Sports Photography

Shooting basketball is very different from my usual outdoor, natural-light environments. Indoors, the lighting can be unpredictable and the movement is fast, which makes it a rewarding challenge. Using manual settings allowed me to control exposure, freeze action, and adjust to the fast pace of the game.

From sharp action shots to focused portraits of players listening to their coaches, every image helps tell the story of Huddersfield Town Basketball as they begin their journey.

Basketball Photography

Sports photography captures more than the game, it shows ambition, teamwork, and progression. For new clubs like Huddersfield Town Basketball, high-quality images help build community awareness, support recruitment, and shape their visual identity as they head into the season.
